Anita Giannone Wawro, 96 the wife of the late Ted Wawro formally of Swartz Tower, died Tuesday, July 31, 2018 in The Commons on St. Anthony. A life resident of Auburn, Anita retired as an office supervisor from General Electric. She enjoyed traveling the world, knitting and crocheting. Anita cherished the time she spent at Westminster Manor, playing bingo with her friends.
She is survived by nieces JoAnne Piccolo and her husband Anthony, Dolorees Bachta and her husband Ron and Christine Brazee, all of Auburn; nephew Robert Giannone and his wife Marie of Liverpool; cousin Mary Ciampaglia and her husband Dominic of Auburn; great nephews Brad Piccolo, Michael Giannone, Brian Brazee and Jeff, Christopher and Todd (Tracy) Bachta; great niece Lisa Piccolo Marr (Dennis); and several great-great nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents Erminio and Desolina Fanelli Giannone and her husband Ted, Anita is predeceased by a brother Anthony Giannone and sisters Anne Giannone Zucchero and Josephine Giannone Carbone.
Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are by the Cheche Funeral Home Inc., 1778 Clark Street road.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Westminster Manor as well as the Commons on St. Anthony for providing wonderful care to Anita.
