Antoinette (Agosta) Giancola

May 30, 2019

Antoinette Agosta Giancola, 95 the wife of the late Charles Giancola, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 30, 2019 in Auburn Nursing Home.

A native of Auburn, Antoinette was born January 3, 1924 to the late Salvatore and Mary Scavone Agosta, and was a communicant of Holy Family Church. She was employed for many years at the Columbian Rope Factory until she became a homemaker following the birth of her daughter. Antoinette's greatest accomplishment and source of pride and joy was her family. She was a loving and devoted grandmother to her two grandchildren, Kaylay ad Connor and was the happiest sharing all of their achievements and stories, and spent every moment she could with them. She enjoyed cooking fabulous Italian meals for her family and in her later years, enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She was best known for always having a smile on her face, even on challenging days.

Antoinette is survived by her loving daughter Anne Marie Duffy and her husband Steven; two grandchildren Kayley and Connor Duffy; two sisters in law Rose Hoydic and Angelina Giancola; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband Charles, Antoinette is predeceased by three brothers Louis, John and Vincent Agosta.

Friends are invited to join the family for a Mass of Christian burial to be offered Monday June 3, at 10:00 am in Holy Family Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be conducted Sunday from 4 to 7 pm in the Cheche Funeral Home Inc., 1778 Clark St. Rd., Auburn.

Antoinette will be greatly missed, but her smile and memory will forever be in our hearts. Antoinette's family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude for the love and care she received from the staff at Upstate Dialysis, in Auburn, for the past 19 years.
