Bryan P. “Dadster” Belknap, 44, died Friday, Feb. 9, 2018, at his home in Phelps. Born in Auburn, Bryan was a graduate of Port Byron High School, class of 1992. He was an avid sports fan, enjoyed watching WWE wrestling and playing horseshoes. Above all, Bryan loved the time he spent with his family, and especially cherished the long driving trips with his son, Cobe.
Bryan is survived by his parents, Paul J. and Norma E. Becker Belknap, of Port Byron; Walter Wallace, who influenced his life as if he were another parent; his devoted companion, Tonya Sergent, of Phelps; one son, Cobe J.P. Belknap, of Phelps; one daughter, Brittany Sergent, of Phelps; a sister, Sherry Bozek, of Auburn; sister-in-law, Shelley Sergent, of Clifton Springs; nephews, Brandon Bozek and Preston Sergent; niece, Mariah Sergent.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, John and Ida Becker, and Paul and Marion Belknap; great-grandmother, Alfrata Famoly.
Friends are invited to join the family for a service to be offered at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, at the Cheche Funeral Home Inc., 1778 Clark St. Road, Auburn. Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
