Dominic M. DiFabio, 91, of Throop Avenue, Auburn, died Wednesday, May 2, 2018, at his home.
A life resident of Auburn, Dominic attended West High School and enjoyed playing football and later tennis and golf. He was employed as a Night Foreman for many years with Red Star Trucking Company. He also worked bartending at various establishments’ years ago, including the Holiday Inn on Orchard Street, the Italian Village, the Elks Club, and Curley’s.
In addition to Arlene, his loving wife of 67 years, Dominic is survived by one son, Dr. David DiFabio and his wife, Wendy, of Liverpool; one daughter, Karen Murdock, of Auburn; four grandchildren, Amy, Adrienne, Danielle, and Diana; two great-grandchildren, Matthew and Alice; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Joseph and Mary Pizzarusso DiFabio, Dominic was predeceased by one son, Dr. Richard DiFabio; son-in-law, Robert T. Murdock; three brothers, Charles, Peter, and Sam; three sisters, Mary Savino, Blanche Howe, and Rose Parisi.
Friends are invited to join the family for a Mass of Christian burial to be offered at 11 a.m. Friday, May 4, 2018, in St. Francis Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are by the Cheche Funeral Home Inc., Auburn.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Kindred Home Care; as well as the many family and friends throughout the neighborhood who stopped by and extended a hand to both Dominic and Arlene.
