George F. Kurtz, 76 of Townhall Road, died Friday, February 1, at his home. A life resident of Auburn, George was a graduate of Auburn's West High School. He retired after many years of employment from Sylvania in Seneca Falls. George was a true lover of nature, enjoying hunting, fishing, birdwatching and being outdoors with his dogs.
He is survived by two sons, Keith Ahart (Sandra) of Owasco and Kenneth Ahart (Linda) of Fair Haven; one daughter, Kristine McGee (Joe) of AR; three brothers, Keith Pethybridge of OK, Gary Pethybridge (Cassie) of AZ and Kevin Kurtz of Union Springs; grandchildren, Dylan Ahart, Kenneth Ahart, Michelle Curtis and Richard Curtis (Brandy); great grandchildren, Carson, Evan, Adelynn and Max; several nieces and nephews as well as nephew Scott Kurtz (Genna) of PA, with whom George was very close to.
In addition to his parents George and Doris Kurtz, he is predeceased by his step mother Leona Kurtz and brothers Carl Kurtz and Robert Pethybrige.
Friends are invited to join the family for a service to be offered Wednesday at 6:00 pm in the Cheche Funeral Home Inc., 1778 Clark St. Rd., Auburn. A calling hour will be held prior to the service from 5 to 6 pm in the funeral home.
