Josephine Zucchero Manzari, 95, the widow of the late Victor Manzari, of Thornton Avenue, Auburn, died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2019, in St. Joseph’s Hospital, Syracuse.
A life resident of Auburn, Josephine worked at the Columbian Rope Company and retired after many years of service as a nurse from Mercy Hospital. She enjoyed sewing, dancing, casino trips, and making her Sunday sauce. Most of all, she cherished the time spent with her loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, Jack Manzari, of Auburn; sister, Louise Shaw, of Auburn; six grandchildren, Joe (Alicia) Wilson, Tom Wilson, Maggie Rothenburg, John Rothenburg (Andrea), Tony Kelly, and Joseph Manning; seven great-grandchildren; son-in-law James Wilson (Dolores); sister-in-law Laura Munro (Robert); and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Louis and Josephine Romano Zucchero, and her husband, Vic, she was predeceased by two daughters, Patricia Wilson and Joan Kelly; a grandson, Michael Manzari; five sisters and two brothers.
Friends are invited to join the family for a Mass of Christian burial to be offered at noon on Friday in St. Francis Church. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery Mausoleum. A calling hour will be conducted prior to the Mass from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the Cheche Funeral Home Inc., 1778 Clark St. Road, Auburn.
