Lorna M. Beardsley McLean, 89, the wife of the late William "Bill" McLean, formally of Norris Avenue, Auburn, died Friday, Dec. 7 in Finger Lakes Center for Living.
A native of Auburn, Lorna retired as a bookkeeper from the P&C Grocery Store. She enjoyed making crafts and ceramics, playing the lottery and taking trips to the casino. For more than fifty years, she bowled in many leagues in the Auburn area. Lorna contributed her time to Meals on Wheels, volunteered at Mercy Rehabilitation Center as well as St. Mary's Bingo for many years. Whether staying in or going out, she took great pride in her appearance and always dressed in style. Lorna cherished the time spent with her loving children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church and a member of their Altar and Rosary Society.
She is survived by one son Tucker McLean of Auburn; one daughter Cheryl Lewandowski and her husband Bill of Middleport; one daughter-in-law Sandy Palombo and her husband Monte of Auburn; 12 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents Frank and Mary Weaver Beardsley, and her husband Bill, she is predeceased by two sons Gary and Billy McLean; two daughters-in-law Marsha McLean and Sharon McLean; brothers George Vreeland and Duane Beardsley; and one sister Doris Friend.
Friends are invited to join the family for a Mass of Christian Burial to be offered 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 13 at St. Mary's Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours for Lorna will be held 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12 at the Cheche Funeral Home, 1778 Clark Street Road, Auburn.
